A distinctive, uniform “Florentine red” color rusticated tiles surface achieved by dry-brushing the surface of the tiles before firing are the main features of Traditional Rustic Cotto (terracotta). The rustic surface constitutes the most classic type of Florentine products, which enhances the full inner structure, the living material of cotto, and guarantees the evenness of its unmistakable color.
The natural plasticity of the material gives rise to additional special items for each of the various types for widely different applications both indoors and outdoors.
Out of the entire collection is available material either to split or split in box ready to use.
As mentioned in the introduction page for Il Ferrone Company the manufactured materials are frost resistant, abrasion resistant, UV resistant and pH resistant, which make the products ideal to use in hard climatic zones especially next to sea-shore and low temperatures areas.

Tiles splitting procedure
In many of the manufactured tiles of 12/14 mm thick as well as 25 mm thick is needed a splitting procedure, to divide each tile which is made of 2 pieces. The splitting procedure is very simple and does not require any special tools but piece of plan wood to hit the tile against it, which will divide at once the pieces with no damage.
