Longoton clay tile Facade

Longoton® extruded double skin tile 40 mm thick is the optimum solution for curtain wall, ventilated and thermally insulated facade, there where needed long size covering. The material is produced from clay predominantly from Moeding Keramikfassaden GmbH own pits developed near by the production area.

Long firing time in high temperatures of its high quality clay contributes to achieve Longoton® extruded tile strength and high value standards.

The design of the extruded tile holder contributes to the stability of the entire facade construction, as they are formed so that frontal forces are transmitted over the entire tile thickness and are dissipated in the sub construction.

The Longoton® clay tile facade is a product that has building inspectorate approval in Germany (Z – 33.1 531). As part of continuous quality testing for compliance with approval specifications, the products are additionally tested by independent institutions. The system satisfies the requirements listed in DIN 18516 Part 1 for curtain-wall, back-ventilated facades.

The clay tiles are frost resistant, abrasion resistant, UV resistant and pH resistant, which make the products ideal to use in hard climatic zones especially next to sea-shore and low temperatures areas.

LONGOTON system

iso-04

LONGOTON double skin facade system is made out of four simple basic components:

  • Terracotta / klinker tiles.
  • Support profile.
  • Tile holders standard or rapid
  • Joint profile

LONGOTON tiles can be supplied for Horizontal cladding or Vertical cladding.

All the facade system materials are resistant to frost, corrosion, dye and light and can also withstand aggressive media. The whole material can be recycled

The terracotta tiles are fastened to the support profile using concealed holders. The holders are not visible, so the joint pattern is not interrupted.

The holders are of 2 types:

  • LONGOTON basic aluminum holder
    iso-5
  • LONGOTON rapid aluminum holder
The LONGOTON rapid terracotta facade system is patent-pending system based on tile holders fitted with stainless steel tongue spring which is inserted into a special groove produced on the reverse side of the tile panel. This holding system prevents the panel from being taken of unintentionally.Aluminum joint profiles are located in the vertical joints to prevent tiles from rattling in the wind, moving side ways and driving rain from penetration, as well as giving guarantee for assembling the facade in exact joint pattern. The joint profiles are produced for 8 mm width & 10 mm width.
Joint profiles are available for center joints and end joints to mach all color tiles.
